Amanda Lyne BSc, MCIM, is a self motivated, and visionary commercial manager experienced in all aspects of business management and technology commercialisation including business planning, business start-ups, early stage funding, culture change, marketing, sales, logistics and exports. Her career history includes 12 years blue chip commercial management, 4 years business development in intellectual property based start up companies, various rounds of private funding and AIM flotation. In recent years through Burgundy Gold Ltd Amanda Lyne co-founded with Dr Andy Creath Acal Energy Ltd the chemistry based fuel cell company which has secured investment funds from the Rising Stars Growth Fund, Northstar Equity Investors, the Carbon Trust and Synergis Technologies.
Dr Gordon Nelson is an enthusiastic, innovative and delivery orientated technical director with a proven track record of delivering all aspects of the R&D process. He is particularly strong in developing effective intellectual property strategies, determining and finding funding opportunities and strategic project management. His own achievements and inventions include using expertise in biochemistry/biotechnology including, enzymology, microbiology, molecular biology, biopolymers, biosensors and micro-encapsulation to find novel solutions in an equally wide range of industries including, food, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, textiles, biocides, diagnostics and personal care.
Joanne Phoenix is a creative, strategic thinker with a broad-based scientific knowledge and specific skills in the assimilation of diverse concepts into coherent development plans. Her background includes nine years in academia covering areas as diverse as medical imaging, assay development, clinical and experimental physiology and she has a specific interest in the application of nutrients to impact on disease processes. Her industry background includes clinical nutrition development, technology transfer and business creation in life sciences in general. Key skills are in the funding of new start businesses including the development and creation of 6 University spin-outs, and raising in excess of £1.3m in early seed funding for technology companies and projects.
