The Heptagon Fund
The Heptagon Fund provides proof of concept funding for its seven partners for new technologies in life sciences and healthcare. Innovation China UK
The UK government and the UK academic community, UK industries and UK consumers, have recognised the importance of collaborating with China to benefit from globalisation and in order to win 'the race to the top' of innovation.
As the first UK-China collaboration programme to promote joint innovation and knowledge transfer, Innovation China UK (ICUK) has created an integrated framework of support and funding, which includes:
1. An ICUK Collaboration Development Fund into which partner HEIs submit applications for proof-of-concept research and collaboration development grants.
2. A state-of-the-art knowledge network and a complementary events and dissemination programme;
3. A team of dedicated project managers to assist in the commercialisation of joint intellectual property generated through the above collaborations.
ICUK will focus its main activities on clean and renewable energies, climate change, the environment and sustainable development. Nano/materials science; Space Technology; Infectious diseases, biomedicine and moderisation of traditional medicines. These knowledge bases are prioritised as key collaboration areas by the UK and China.
