Project Background
A UK based University needed specialist help to assess the commercial viability of a novel medical bio-sensing technology. Burgundy Gold completed a thorough analysis of the competitive market and the practical steps the University might take for licensing and spin out. The technology transfer department of the University, had secured funding to complete the commercial assessment from their Proof of Concept fund who in particular wanted to understand how the technology would fit with others being developed in the industry, and what options they might have for exploitation. In addition they wished to ensure that the technical aspects of the planned project would provide the data that potential partners would value; thereby maximising their chances of completing a license deal or creating a viable spin out business.
